Biology
The Study of Life (I)
In BI301, we will explore the macroconcepts of interactions and systems through the themes of Basis of Life and Maintenance of Life. As students learn about the basis of life, they will look at how cells, organelles, and molecules interact to produce changes and effects. From individual cells to multicellular organisms, they will explore how multicellular organisms maintain life when different parts within systems work together to ensure that physiological processes can occur. Eventually, they will gain appreciation of how the different systems are then coordinated to carry out different functions together in an organism.
The Study of Life (II)
Building on the foundation of BI301, this course invites students to understand and explore an important theme in Biology, “Continuity of Life”. They can look forward to learning how organisms reproduce to ensure species survival and to further explore the survival of a species through the lens of “Living in a Changing Environment”. BY engaging with these broad themes, they will explore macroconcepts, including
