Economics
Central to the study of Economics is decision making – how economic agents make decisions in the face of scarcity. Scarcity leads to the inevitability of choice and trade-offs. In the context of A-Level Economics, decision-making is framed as a process where students analyse how decisions are made from the perspectives of different economic agents (consumers, producers, governments), adjusting for dynamic changes where relevant.
The Economics Programme in NJC aims to
-
develop in students an appreciation the applications and limitations of the subject in helping us understand the events unfolding at the national and international levels, and
-
deepen the acquisition of 21st century competencies
through a myriad of activities including seminar-style lessons, interactive tutorials, student presentation and enrichment activities which bring students out of the classroom to learn beyond the books.
