Malay Language Elective Programme

Where words come alive and melodies linger in the heart, NJC’s Malay Language Elective Programme (MLEP) transforms learning into a journey beyond the classroom. Rooted in the niches of Translation and Malay Music, students explore language and sound through signature experiences such as Introduction to Translation, Lyric Writing Workshops, and Malay Music Appreciation. Through translation, they refine their bilingual skills, learning to navigate meaning with clarity and nuance; through Lyric Writing and Malay Music workshops, they discover the rhythms, stories, and emotions that give the music its soul. As language and culture gently intertwine, learning unfolds naturally—igniting curiosity, nurturing creativity, and deepening a lasting passion for the Malay language and its rich heritage.
