Western Dance
NJC Western Dance is a contemporary dance group driven by a shared passion for movement. We aim to become a highly regarded ensemble by consistently pushing ourselves beyond our limits. As a close-knit team, our collective unity is always at the forefront of our minds.
Beyond vigorous training sessions that challenge us to step out of our comfort zones and explore new forms of expression, we perform regularly at intra-College and external events. This includes the biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation for Dance (International Dance Category). These opportunities allow us to gain valuable stage experience and have led to numerous accolades—a tangible display of our hard work, resilience, and dedication.
Furthermore, our dancers hone their soft skills by taking on leadership positions at both the JH and SH levels, including the Executive Committee (EXCO) and various sub-committees. We also champion Values-In-Action (VIA) initiatives, serving the community through dance and fostering arts appreciation in Singapore.
Through shared experiences, we build strong bonds, supporting one another to strive for excellence. We overcome challenges as a team, emerging stronger together. Ultimately, we hope our performances reflect our true emotions, for we believe that watching us dance is to hear our hearts speak.
