JC DSA Selection Criteria
DSA-JC Selection Criteria
Applicants will be shortlisted and selected based on the following overarching criteria:

Demonstrate passion for and commitment to grow in the area of interest;

Exemplify and role model positive character traits, including resilience, motivation and integrity; and
-
Display a commitment to contribute to NJC, through the area of interest as well as other opportunities to serve.
In addition, each talent area has specific criteria as shown below. Please note that meeting all the criteria does not guarantee that the applicant will be shortlisted or given an offer.
The selection criteria below are subject to changes. Applicants are advised to refer to the webpage at the point of application.

experience - e.g. NAPFA 2.4km results, performance in school track/cross-country
meet, NSG representation in other sports etc.

Students admitted to the Art Elective Programme must offer H2 Art and H3 Art. These are examinable A-Level subjects. |

2. Malay Language Elective Programme (MLEP) |
(1) At least a ‘B3’ in HML/ ‘A2’ in ML/ ‘B4’ in HML AND ‘B3’ in Malay
Literature [full/elective] (based on Sec 3 or 4 school assessment)

Students admitted through MLEP must offer H2 Malay Language & Literature. This is an examinable A-Level subject. |

3. Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP) |
(1) At least a ‘B3’ in HTL/ ‘A2’ in TL (based on Sec 3 or 4 school assessment)

Students admitted through TLEP must offer H2 Tamil Language & Literature. This is an examinable A-Level subject. |

4. Science Research Programme |
(1) Demonstration of knowledge, clear motivation, interest and passion
in STEM Research and Innovation
Phase 1 shortlisted applicants will then be invited to participate in an interview. |
Students admitted through DSA Research must undertake research project(s) in NJC. To be engaged in, organise and lead in STEAM-based co-curricular activities and competitions (e.g. coding workshops, design thinking workshops, research and innovation projects, SISTEMIC etc.). |
